Weekend of new and old media
Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 9:27PM So this weekend Sean stood in line and bought an iPad. He said he couldn't justify the expense for buying it for himself, so he gave it to me for my birthday/mother's day present. We did this last year with buying the camera, and I agree that having a combined present for mother's day and birthday is fun. Boy is the iPad FUN and AMAZING and ADDICTING. Stephen got in on the fun too. He likes the streaming Netflix app, which is SO COOL, and I got some other apps for him. He's been playing with Kaitlyn on her itouch for a couple of months now the Paper toss game where you try to get paper into a trash can, a game where you try to kick a field goal through the uprights and some random other free games. On the Ipad, I bought this counting game where you touch the different things, it says, "one", "two" etc and then when you are done, it reinforces how many there are. I also got this one that is too old for him, but he'll grow into, where you pick a subject and an action and another noun and make silly sentences. We also built a lot of Lego towers this weekend with Stephen and then Sean took him to the PGA superstore and let him hit balls.
The iPad is not just a large iphone, it is like having a laptop. It is really quite amazing and we are having a lot of fun with it. Looking forward to perhaps getting the camera connection kit and fooling around with camera editing apps, but they aren't just there yet.
